The Wonder of The Seas has surpassed it's older sister, the Symphony of the Seas, as the largest cruise ship in the world. Measuring 1,188 feet long and weighing 236,857 gross tons, the 6,988-passenger cruise ship makes it's debut on March 4th in Fort Lauderdale.

She will then sail a series of seven-night Caribbean cruises before a transatlantic crossing to Barcelona in May and then on to Rome for a variety of Mediterranean voyages, including our own special discounted sailing Aug ; then, onward to Rome to offer an exciting lineup of Mediterranean voyages including our special discounted sailing Aug 7 - 14th out of Barcelona, Spain.

CEO Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean International President proclaimed that "Wonder of the Seas will energize cruising in a bolder and bigger way. Adding this ship to our already best-in-class fleet elevates the company in continuing to lead the industry with new features and innovation," said Liberty. "This is one more way that we're delivering world-class and memorable vacations, responsibly, to guests around the world."

New Features On Wonder Of The Sea

So what's new onboard the newest technological marvel at sea?

This time around there are eight distinct onboard neighborhoods that offer something different for every type of cruiser. For those in Suites there is a new neighbourhood dedicated to you, giving Royal Suites Class guests access to an elevated Suite Sun Deck that has its own a plunge pool and sun loungers, a bar and a private restaurant, Coastal Kitchen.

Other new offerings to check out while onboard include what Royal Caribbean is calling the Wonder Playscape, an open-air, underwater-themed kids’ play area that comes complete with slides, climbing walls and an interactive, touch-activated mural, plus puzzles and games. Wonder of the Seas does not disappoint with water slides with The Perfect Storm’, a trio of high-speed waterslides and the familiar kids’ aqua park, ‘Splashaway Bay’.

A very cool new food and drink venue, the Vue Bar, is a cantilevered bar with panoramic ocean views. Another new place to pick up some food and drinks is the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar, which will serve American southern fare in a warm farmhouse-style setting, complete with live country music.

Of course the "regular" Oasis Class ship features are all here including the Flow Rider surf simulator, the Ultimate Abyss (the tallest slide at sea), twin rock-climbing walls, the Aqua Theatre and our personal favourite the stunning (and unbelieveable) Central Park neighbourhood with over 20,000 live plants and trees! Now THAT is truly a Wonder!
